SINOPSIA Synopsis

Leihotik begira pasatzen du gau eta egun Simon zaharrak. Bizitza baserrian eman zuen, lanabes eta animalien artean. Orain, ordea, bizitzak azken uneak eskaintzen dizkiola, baserria galdu eta herrira jaitsi behar izan du, pisu umel batera. Gauero ideia batek lapurtzen dio loa ordea: bere oroimenetako lurraldera itzultzeko ideiak. Baina nola itzuli jada fisikoki existitzen ez den leku horretara? Simonek badu plan bat, eta ez du bere helburua lortu arte etsiko.

Covek nije ptica (bosnieraz Gizona ez da txoria) desterratutako hegazti errariei buruzko lana da, hegan egin ahal izateko euren erroetara bueltatu behar dutenen istorioa.
Ikuskizun bisuala izanik ere, hainbat hizkuntzek elkar bzi dute lan honetan : euskarak, gaztelerak eta bosnierak, hain zuzen.
Simon lived and worked almost all his life on his smallholding in the hills above the town, tiling the land and caring for his animals. As things had it, in his golden years Simon lost possession of his land. And, as things often have it nowadays, he was left with nothing other than a meagre pension and forced to move to a small, damp flat in the town below.
Now, the old Simon passes the last of his days watching the world from his window. At night he’s kept awake by an idea that flies round and round his head – to somehow return to the place of his memories. But Simon has a plan.
Covek Nije Ptica (literal translation from the Bosnian, “Man is not a bird”) is a work about those in migration, those who’ve been disenfranchised from their own land. And the story of those who break from their earthly restraints always having to return to where they began. It is also a fairytale of our times and offers a view into the lives of old people in our society, the true loss they suffer in deciding to or simply being forced to leave their pervious lives behind. It speaks of the loss of our collective imagination and the disappearance of rural life.
Dialogue is in Basque, Spanish and Bosnian but the message is easily understood by all.
“Gure sustraiak, sorterrira lotzen gaituzten oroimena, pentsamendua, sentimenduak dira. [...]

Gure lurraren arima aldean daramagu nahinora, sustraiak gure ezaugarriak dira, giza jende legez nondik gatozen, eta nora goazen agertzen dutenak”.

Joseba Sarrionandia, Ainhoari gutunak.
